Preserving History: Chaz Haywood Joins State Historical Records Advisory Board - HARRISONBURG, VA
Harrisonburg, VA – Chaz Haywood, Clerk of Court for Rockingham County, has been appointed to the State Historical Records Advisory Board. With years of experience in record preservation, Haywood will now help localities across Virginia safeguard historical documents that shape the state’s legacy.
Haywood, who originally aspired to be a history teacher, has made it a mission to preserve records that offer an unbiased account of the past. He believes historical documents often reveal untold stories that go beyond what is written in books. His new role will allow him to extend his expertise beyond the Rockingham Circuit Courthouse to ensure Virginians can access and learn from these valuable records for generations to come.
“This appointment is an opportunity to not only protect our past but also ensure that Virginians today — and in the future — can access the documents that tell our shared story,” Haywood said.
